it was so unexpected, to see so much of the art and artists i love and loved in one spot honoring women and women's art. as a feminist, i realize how important an exhibit like this is for the younger women coming up after me, to let them know that there was a movement that made a difference and that there is still that movement and they can be part of it.

thanks to the pompidou for giving me an extroardinary gift during my stay last june. i wil be back again in june and am sorry the exhibit will be gone. i will purchase the catalog, though, so that i will have it to remember the experience. jeanne simonoff united states

This exhibition is an amazing history of women's art, it fairly chronicles the struggle for recognition of women in the arts, there is not a more comprehensive collection anywhere in the world. Plan to spend some time here and plan to be moved beyond measure.

I entered the name of Ana Mendieta, Cuban artist of the 70's and 80's who led a change of attitudes towards women artists to today's recognition of equality. I thought she might be listed. Instead I got her husband's name Carl Andre who was tried and acquitted for her murder. It was called "suicide". Enough said about the Pompidou Center exhibit, maybe she is part of it. I do hope so.
