Andy Warhol’s Mao Images Excluded from Exhibition by China’s Ministry of Culture

The images of Chairman Mao in the largest travelling exhibition of Andy Warhol’s work will be banned from going on public display in China. The show, a two-year tour across Asia that commemorates the 25th anniversary of the artist’s death, is comprised of around 300 works across a variety of media. Among them are the iconic Soup cans, Jackie Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe images, alongside 10 Mao paintings.Read the article via Bloomberg
