Jonathan Meese Wins Nazi Salute Court Case

German artist Jonathan Meese has been acquitted of making a Nazi salute gesture during a performance last year, winning out with a defense claiming constitutional protection for artistic freedom.  The accusations stemmed from a performance Meese gave at “Megalomania in the Art World” last year at Kassel University.  “Art has triumphed,” Meese said. “Now I am free.”
