Christie’s Sees 29% Drop in Sales for First Half of 2016

Christie’s sales figures for the first half of 2016 dropped to £2.1 billion ($3 billion), down 29 percent from last year’s landmark year.  “I think there are no surprises,” says president Jussi Pylkkanen. “Volumes are down, year on year, and obviously it’s a very significant reduction in just the amount of artworks that were being traded.”
