Gladstone Gallery will reprise the sculpture and video of Matthew Barney’s 1991 performance Blind Perineum this fall, a piece in which the artist scaled across the ceiling of the space using ice picks. “There are vast numbers of artists and other interested people who have heard about it but have never seen it,” Barbara Gladstone. “People think the performance was in front of an audience, but it never was.”
