Hawaii’s Contemporary Art Scene Continues to Grow

The New York Times reports on the growing potency of Hawaii’s contemporary arts community, as a group of young artists and galleries explore the island’s tropical climate and burgeoning resources.  “There’s energy here,” says collector Cristiano Cairati. “It’s the same energy of endless possibilities that New York had in the late ’80s and ’90s, when you could be and do anything.”
