The UK Government has placed an export bar on a JMW Turner painting under threat of leaving the country. The piece carries an asking price of £18,533,750. “I very much hope that it can remain in the UK, where it can be admired and appreciated by future generations for many years to come,” says arts minister Michael Ellis.
