The Shed, a  multidisciplinary performing-arts center set to open next year, has announced its first round of commissions for 2019, including projects with Steve McQueen, Gerhard Richter, and a show on the word of Agnes Denes. “If the range of artists you present represents the range of society, then you have a chance,” said Alex Poots, the Shed’s artistic director and CEO.
