Rebecca Rabinow, director of the Menil Collection in Houston, has been named to the board of directors of the Richard Diebenkorn Foundation in Berkeley, California, Art News reports. “An authority on the work of Henri Matisse, Rebecca has long been aware that the master artist was a lodestar for Richard Diebenkorn, holding for him the spark of modernity and lessons of pure painting,” says foundation president Steven Nash.
