The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth in Texas is currently showing the exhibition FOCUS: Rosson Crow until May 17, 2009.  The exhibition features a small selected collection of Rosson Crow’s grand scale paintings.  It is the first solo exhibition in a museum for the young artist.  Crow’s work has been previously included in numerous galleries including White Cube, London; Deitch Projects, New York; and Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean, Luxembourg.

The selected Crow’s pieces for the exhibition depict recognizable historical interior spaces with a sense of eeriness.  The darkness is the keynote of her paintings: some features of her paintings are dominating black and subdued color palette and expressionist painting techniques.  Such twist to the historic interiors creates chaos and theatrical grandeur.

Rosson Crow, a native Texan, is only 26, was trained at School of Visual Arts for her BFA, and graduated from Yale with an MFA in 2006. The artist is currently residing and working in Los Angeles, CA.
