“The Pig” will “make you show it to your best friend, and say yes” claims the press release. “The Pig” is at Deitch’s new studio in Long Island City and is curated by the participating artists. It is organized by the Italian multi-media artist Paola Pivi and Austrian pair Gelatin, hence the name “Pig.” Works by Jim Drain, Paul Chan, Jeff Koons, Mario Grubisic, Paola Pivi, Gelatin, Simon Martin, Roberto Cuoghi and Schuyler Maehl are at show till August 9.

On exhibtion at Deitch Studio Free Tibet by Paola Pivi via New York Times
All kinds of mediums are employed in the creation of works exhibited at the new waterfront Queens studio of Deitch Projects; including paintings, videos, sculptures, photographs and installations. The color and the post-Pop thematic is what holds the works together in a cohesive show with a self-deprecating title. It is a summer project at its core, yet educative with visiting artists like Dan Graham giving talks there.
Henry Moore for the poor, Gelatin via Deitch
Most of the titles of the works exhibited at the Deitch Project’s “The Pig” are a commentary on the artworld or politics, as humorous and light as they may seem; including Gelatin’s “Henry Moore for the poor” and Paola Pivi’s “If you like it, thank you. If you don’t like it, I am sorry. Enjoy anyway”.
