An article in the New York Times explores the project 89plus, an initiative founded last year by Simon Castets, director of the Swiss Insitute, and Hans Ulrich Obrist, co-director of the Serpentine Gallery, in the hopes of fostering artists born after 1989. 89plus has already attracted over 5,000 interested young artists, including several hundred that have participated in workshops at the Luma Foundation in Zurich, the Serpentine Gallery, and Mexico City’s Museo Jumex, among others.
