The nationalist Finns party has blocked state funding for the Guggenheim Helsinki, stating that the funding for the museum is a waste of taxpayer money during a time of austerity.  “This is the end of the matter, we have ruled out state funding once and for all, for this government,” says Sampo Terho, the parliamentary head of the Finns party.  “We are not opposed to the project as such, we just don’t think it is something that the state should participate in.”
