The Modern Art Museum in Rio de Janeiro announced that it plans to sell a Jackson Pollock painting estimated to be worth around $25 million in order to cover debts and improve the museum. “With this fund, MAM will be able to make short-, medium-, and long-term planning; infrastructure improvements; increase personnel; and update the Brazilian art collection, filling the gaps and acquiring works by contemporary artists,†MAM president Carlos Alberto Chateaubriand said.
