A strong market season for Pablo Picasso continues this spring in New York, as the painter’s Le Repos, a portrait of Marie-Theres Walter, heads to Sotheby’s this May with a $25 million estimate. “It’s as pure as you’ll get,†says Simon Shaw of the auction house’s Impressionist and Modern department. “Picasso is just utterly infatuated with her.â€
