Eizenstat, the diplomat and lawyer who has long advised on the process of restituting Nazi-looted art, and who will now take on his first court case seeking the return of an allegedly looted Camille Pissarro. “No self-respecting government, art dealer, private collector, museum or auction house should trade in or possess art stolen by the Nazis,†he says.
