Art Basel, the premier international art fair, returned to its namesake city of Basel, Switzerland, from June 13 to June 16, 2024. Known as the cornerstone of the global art calendar, Art Basel in Basel once again brought together the best of the contemporary art world, featuring an unparalleled array of galleries, artworks, and immersive experiences.

Basel, the birthplace of Art Basel, remains the flagship event of the prestigious art fair series. Founded in 1970 by gallerists Trudl Bruckner, Balz Hilt, and Ernst Beyeler, Art Basel has grown into a global phenomenon, with editions in Miami Beach, Hong Kong, and now Paris. The Basel fair, though, continues to be the epicenter, drawing the most influential artists, collectors, curators, and art enthusiasts from around the world. This year’s edition took place in Messe Basel, a 141,000 square foot convention center, located in the Basel city center.

Art Basel in Basel 2024 featured over 290 of the world’s leading galleries, presenting works from the early 20th century to the most contemporary pieces.
