An unsigned painting discovered in a French chateau have led to speculations that the work is a depiction ofItalian philosopher Niccolo Machiavelli, painted by Leonardo da Vinci. “Just because it says so in the archives does not mean it’s true” cautions Anne Gerardot of the local archives office.
