Phillips de Pury & Company opened its Chelsea, New York doors March 25th from 6:00-8:00pm for an auction preview of “Under the Influence.” Also on view was an emerging artist exhibition, “Associates in New York.”

“Under the Influence will only be on view in New York from March 25th to March 30th 2008, and culminates in an auction on March 31st at 10:00am and 2:00pm. Highlights include striking works by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Guo Wei, Tom McGrath, Isca Greenfield-Sanders and Bernard Frize. Philips de Pury was flooded with attendees at the March 25th opening and guests seem to appreciate the well-cultivated and diverse collection. All pieces seemed to be selected with today’s trends in modern art collection front of mind.

Also on display, and curated by Paola Clerico, “Associates in New York” is a group exhibition of works by Ben Cain, Stella Capes, Alice Channer, Lucy Clout, Kim Coleman & Jenny Hogarth, Sean Edwards, Josephine Flynn, Tom Gidley, Matthew Harrison, Adrià Julià, Matthew Smith, and Adam Thomas.
