American critic Dave Hickey announces that he “quits” the art world, citing too much emphasis on money and lack of seriousness. Hickey says the straw that broke the camel’s back was when he was required to sign a 10 page contract before sitting on a panel discussion at the Guggenheim. “What can I tell you? It’s nasty and it’s stupid. I’m an intellectual and I don’t care if I’m not invited to the party. I quit.”Read the article via The Guardian
