Iran Opens First Art Fair Amid Political Concerns

Iran will open its first art fair, Teer, at the end of the month, Art Newspaper reports, even as the ongoing conflict with the U.S. makes securing work and sales a challenge in the country. “The transfer or receipt of money to or from abroad is a major issue as Iran is not connected to the international banking system. It’s an ongoing issue made worse due to current political decisions,” Salman Matinfar, the director of Tehran’s Ab-Anbar gallery, says.
