A group of artists, intellectuals and professionals have published an open letter asking the New Museum to allow its employees to unionize, leading the New Museum to step back and allow the process.  “We respect our employees’ right to self-organize and will respect whatever decision they make,” the museum said in a statement. “We will continue to work together to advance the museum’s special mission.”
