Anthony van Dyck Show to Explore Artist’s Work with X-Rays

An show of work by Anthony van Dyck will use X-ray and infrared technology to provide new perspective into the artist’s methods.“We don’t know whether it was at the request of the client or whether it was his own artistic decision,” says curator Mirjam Neumeister. “But it shows that his paintings were prepared not just with drawing studies—they were also very intensely reworked during the painting process.”
