Frieze London has announced its “Projects” section for the 2014 edition of the fair in Regent’s Park.  Curated by Nicola Lees, the seven projects located both on-site and around London will include a “living stage” by Nick Mauss, where ballets will be performed each day, and a secret map of the fair routes by Sophia Al Maria, underlining conspiracies hidden throughout.  The presentations will also feature a reconstructed musical performance from the career of conceptual comedian Andy Kaufman, enacted by Jonathan Berger. The Queens Museum will reopen this fall, following a $137 million renovation that doubled the space’s square footage to 105,000.  Now, the challenge will fall to the museum’s administration to generate interest, luring art lovers out to Flushing Meadows.  “It’s easy to have a wedding,” says director Tom Finkelpearl. “It’s harder to have a good marriage. This September, Dominique Lévy will open her new gallery at 909 Madison Street with a performance of artist Yves Klein’s sole sound composition, Monotone-Silence.  Consisting, appropriately, of a single chord played for twenty minutes, followed by twenty minutes of silence, the piece has only been performed once before, for its 1960 premiere. “Yves Klein is such a pillar, and yet he’s not well enough known here.” Lévy said.
