Olafur Eliasson – Little Sun (2012), The Tate Modern

As part of the London 2012 Festival, the Tate Modern is hosting a special exhibition in collaboration with artist Olafur Eliasson and engineer Frederik Ottesen.  Spotlighting the duo’s new creation, Little Sun aims to bring solar-powered lighting to parts of the world with no electricity.

Olafur Eliasson‘s ‘Little Sun’ newly installed at the Tate Modern uses solar powered, sunflower-shaped lamps and blackouts, and additionally address the social issues of energy use and expense. “Little Sun is a small work of art with a large reach,” says the Danish artist about his vision.
