Andy Warhol Museum Scraps NYC Expansion Plans

Plans for a New York outpost of the Andy Warhol Museum have reportedly been abandoned, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.  “Despite the efforts of both the museum and the developers, an internal study of business and other operational considerations led the museum to this decision,” Director Eric Shiner said in a statement. MoMA Moving Forward with Plans to Demolish Former American Folk Art Building

The Museum of Modern Art has officially filed its $1.6 million plan to demolish the former home of the American Folk Art Museum to expand its midtown campus.  The announcement comes almost a year after the Museum announced its initial plans to raze the building, after purchasing the building in 2011 for $31.2 million.
