Argentinian painter Guillermo Kuitca has, for the past several decades, continued to explore the visual aesthetic of organization, the varied architectural and illustrative lines at the heart of the maps, floor plans and aerial views, abstracting these images into his own personal artistic language.  The record becomes a personal interpretation, and vice versa.

Allen R. Adler and his wife, Frances Beatty Adler, have donated $4.5 million to The Princeton Art Museum to pay for a curator of European art as well as for organization of exhibitions and research. Mr. Adler is a member of the museum’s advisory council and Mrs. Adler is vice president of the Richard L. Feigen & Co. Gallery, as well as chairwoman of The Drawing Center in Soho. (more…)

The current show at the Drawing Center in New York exhibits 43 drawings and works on paper by Leon Golub made between the years 1999 and his death in 2004. Golub is primarily known for his visceral large-scale paintings of war, torture, and the darker side of humanity. The drawings however, display a different side to Golub’s art making process, and reflect the range of his interests–satyrs, sex, animals, classical art, death, and graffiti all appear in these late drawings.
