Anish Kapoor has designed for the performance of Tristan and Isolde at the English National Opera. “My sculptures are deeply rooted in orientating the body, in putting one in a frame of a certain kind of looking and thinking,†he says. “I think that’s religious. It’s often processional and intentionally philosophical, too. That’s what Wagner is about, too.â€
