Researchers at Kansas City’s Nelson-Atkins Museum have discovered a dead grasshopper embedded in the paint of van Gogh’s Olive Trees. “What’s fun is we can come up with all these scenarios for how the insect landed in the paint,†says paintings conservator Mary Schafer.
