Marina Abramovic is partnering with a group of filmmakers, including Alejandro González Iñárritu and Roman Polanski, to realize a series of short films focused around the death of opera singer Maria Callas.  The work is premised on the idea that Callas died of a broken heart, with Abramovic recreating the deaths of famous characters the singer played.  “It’s a very private subject, a woman dying for love,†Abramovic said.
