Marianne Boesky to Open Downtown Space

Marianne Boesky Gallery has announced that it will open a new exhibition space in downtown New York, titled Boesky East.  Located at 20 Clinton Street, the space will open its doors May 4th with an installation by Pier Paolo Calzolari.  “I’m looking forward to expanding our reach into such an exciting neighborhood for art,” Boesky told Art Observed.  “Clinton street will be a wonderful complement to our Chelsea and Uptown locations.”

 

MoMA’s Rain Room To Stay Open Late on Final Night

In response to the massive public response drawn by its current Rain Room installation, the Museum of Modern Art will keep the work by Random International open until midnight this Sunday, July 28th, its closing day.  The work has attracted over 65,000 visitors since it opened in May, and has seen wait times of up to nine hours during busy days to stand inside the stream of pouring water. The Met to Stay Open 7 Days a Week

Beginning July 1st, The Metropolitan Museum of Art will be open to the public 7 days a week.  The changes also apply to The Cloisters museum in northern Manhattan, and are the result of a decision to make the spaces “accessible whenever visitors have the urge to experience this great museum.”  Says Museum Director Thomas Campbell. Gallery Weekend Berlin Announces Gallery List

Berlin’s annual Gallery Weekend has just announced its lineup of participating galleries.  The event will feautre a number of major Berlin galleries, including Sprüth-Magers, Konrad Fischer and Max Hetzler, as well as a number of newcomers, including Plan B and Kraupa-Tuskany Zeidler.  Gallery Weekend Berlin will run from April 26th to April 28th.
