Chris Dercon Leaving Tate Modern for Berlin’s Volksbühne

Tate Modern Director Chris Dercon will leave the museum to head up Berlin’s experimental theatre landmark, the Volksbühne in 2017, The Guardian reports.  “Chris Dercon is helping to open Tate Modern to a wider world and more diverse audiences through his support for a more international programme, photography, live performance and film,” says Tate head Nicolas Serota. “We look forward to working with him on the opening of the new Tate Modern and until he takes up his appointment in Berlin in 2017.” (more…)

Abby Bangser Named Frieze Artistic Director for Asia and Americas

Frieze Art Fair has announced that Abby Bangser will take the newly formed Artistic Director position for the Americas and Asia, working to support the organization’s director, Victoria Siddall.  “Abby brings fantastic gallery, institutional and collector relationships to this new role,” Siddall said in a statement, “and I am thrilled she is joining our team. Christie’s Names New Chairman of Modern and Impressionist Art for the Americas

Piper Marshall Leaves Post as Swiss Institute Curator

Piper Marshall, the curator of the Swiss Institute, has resigned from her position after six years to pursue freelance projects.  “I am extremely grateful to the SI Board, former director Gianni Jetzer, and the SI team for nurturing my growth and challenging and refining my role as a curator of historically significant art and immensely talented artists,” Marshall says.
