In an interview with the New York Times, Alex Rotter confirmed that he will be leaving Sotheby’s to join the staff at Christie’s next year as chairman of postwar and contemporary art at Christie’s Americas.  “Christie’s over the last 10 years has been the Yankees,” he says. “I might as well go to the best team and make them even better, hopefully, with me coming there.”
