Kerry James Marshall Withdraws from Public Art Following Auction Flap

Kerry James Marshall says he is done making public art, following the controversy over the city of Chicago attempted a sale of a mural he did for a city library. “It just seemed like a way of exploiting the work of artists in the city for short-term gain in a really shortsighted kind of way,” he says.
