The Snarkitecture Studio has unveiled a massive ball pit installed inside of Washington D.C.’s National Building Museum, part of a 10,000 square foot work titled The Beach.  The work will remain open to the public through September 7th. (more…)

President Barack Obama’s administration has announced the winners of the 2012 National Medal of Arts, including Ellsworth Kelly on the list of recipients.  Kelly, who turned 90 this year, is currently in the spotlight for a trio of New York shows this spring and summer, spanning the range of his career, and will accept the award tonight in Washington, DC.  Other recipients include landscape architect Laurie Olin. Little Dancer, a musical inspired by an Edgar Degas sculpture, will open this fall in Washington, DC.  Written by the Tony-award winning duo of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime), the show will follow a young, impoverished dancer in the Paris Opera Ballet as she struggles to practice her art.  Little Dancer is scheduled to open at the Kennedy Center in October.
