Takashi Murakami has opened his career retrospective at the MCA Chicago, and has designed a series of prints and other pieces on sale at the museum gift shop, Art Newspaper reports, causing a major surge in sales that sees no sign of slowing. “I’ve never had to ask so much from the retail department, as well as everyone else in the building, including the social media team,” Mark Millmore, the MCA’s director of retail says.
