Dr. Clare McAndrew’s annual report for Art Basel is now out, bringing enlightening figures and statistics about the current health of the art market. Key figures from the report note global sales of $63.7 billion in 2017, up 12% on 2016, with the US as the largest market worldwide, accounting for 42% of sales by value, China in second place (21%) and the UK the third largest market with 20%.
