Techno artist Carl Craig has been commissioned to create a new work in the spacious basement of Dia:Beacon. “The kind of space we’re working with at Dia, there are tons of abandoned spaces I’ve been working with my whole lifetime,” Craig says. “The fall of the automotive industry in Detroit left all these factories that turned into party spaces—and a lot of them are still there.”
